“Your outlook on life is a direct reflection of how much you like yourself”–Unknown

poster_ENG_webGo ahead, read that quote again and let it sink in. I’ll wait.

It’s a good one, huh? I’d love to say I’m a good enough writer to have made that one up, but it’s from the lululemon manifesto. Honestly, I’m not a good enough writer to get paid to write, much less come up with pithy sayings.

I wanted to say something profound about this quote, share a recent life story or realization to illustrate how accurate this quote is. I’ll be honest, I got nothing. All I’ve got is the remnants of a concussion from my last trapeze outing. Thankfully my head is indeed thick so everything in there is as normal as it’s ever going to be. But I still can’t string together words to make a logical thought. So there you go. It’s a sharing day instead of a creative day.

Here’s to “sharing days” and more of the same!

  2. I don’t know, I find with a lot of these sayings, they don’t hold up so well upon closer inspection. For myself, I try my damnedest not to throw my own biases at how I view what’s out there, and seldom, if ever, is there anything “direct” about the reflections I see.

Still, it does sound nice! By the way, sorry to hear about your trap-ouch! 🙂

    • Thanks for the kind words, and for the introspection!! I agree- so many quotes sound great on the surface until you scratch a little deeper, and you’re left scratching your head! With this one, I actually hadn’t thought of it in terms of concrete and specific biases–but rather general positive/negative/self-love/self-loathing type of energy inwards and outwards…and I am continuing to think about your perspective–thank you!!

I appreciate anyone who can use the word ‘pithy’ in a sentence. It is one of my favorites! 🙂 And you did it all ‘concussed’ and all. I love the saying and the sign you posted here. Good advice. As always, color me impressed with you. And, the Momma in me has to say this: Take care of yourself and rest. That is what your body (and your head) needs! ❤
